Chapter 1
Father Wants to Fellowship With Us
My sheep listen to my voice;
I know them and they follow me.
JOHN 10:27 NKJV
When he has brought all his own sheep outside, he walks on ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice and recognize his call.

DO YOU HEAR GOD’S VOICE but don’t recognize it? How can you follow Him if you don’t recognize His voice? Religion blinds and confuses you so you don’t recognize His voice.
I remember the presence of the Holy Spirit coming upon me as I was lying atop the chicken coop. It was a cold winter day, but I felt the warmth and peace of the Holy Spirit. At only eight years old, I asked Him why I was born. He spoke to me and said, “You are going to do great things on earth!” I didn’t know how, but I knew in my heart that it was true.
The next time I experienced His presence, I was walking across the field from my grandmother’s house on Christmas Eve. I was ten years old. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “Something good is going to happen to you.”
The most powerful spiritual moment I remember happened when I was sitting in study hall during my seventh grade year. My family had begun going to church several months prior, and they had all been saved. I tried several times to ask Jesus into my heart, but I didn’t feel anything. I became angry at the Lord because He wouldn’t save me. During study hall I asked Him, “What am I supposed to do to become saved?” His Spirit came upon me from the top of my head to the top of my shoulders, causing a great warmth and goosebumps! That moment gave me the assurance that I was already saved. I realized I was trying to become what I already was.
Those events were defining moments in my life when I figured out that the Spirit of God was coming upon me. My desire is to be able to help you communicate with the Holy Spirit. This relationship with Him is a supernatural experience you can have when you learn to hear His voice.
Those who are of religion don’t expect to hear the voice of our Father or the Holy Spirit because many denominations don’t teach that He speaks to us in this day and time. When we understand the Kingdom, then we know we are the sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father (2 Corinthians 6: 18). What father or parent does not talk to his children? What child does not want to talk with his or her parents? The Word says, “They who are led by the Spirit are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14). How can you fulfill your purpose on the earth if you don’t know the voice of the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is a communicator. From the foundation of the world (Genesis) until now, He has wanted to communicate with man. He wants to speak with us! My goal is to help you to recognize His voice.
Sometimes He will speak through a man, a boy, a woman, or a girl. His voice won’t always sound the same. It may be through your pastor, your parents, a friend, or a stranger. I have heard the voice of the Holy Spirit through my children. I have heard His voice speaking to my spirit in my own voice! I have also heard His voice as I read His Word. Sometimes when I listen to sermons or songs, I hear His voice within the message. You will begin to know when He is speaking to you. It will resonate in your spirit with an answer to a prayer. I know this may confound some of you, but by the time you finish reading this book, you will be able to recognize His voice.
To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his
voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name,
and leadeth them out.
And when he puttethforth his own sheep,
he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him:
for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not
follow, but will flee from him:
for they know not the voice of strangers.
