Faith Quotes That Inspire And Strengthen Us

by Kayla Kennada

I love reading faith quotes. They encourage me, lift my spirit, and inspire me to keep moving forward through life’s challenges and daily pressures. I also enjoy encouraging others when they are carrying burdens or facing hardships. Most of the time, I don’t sit down and try to come up with a quote. Instead, words seem to rise up from my spirit when I feel led to encourage someone who needs hope. That’s exactly how this quote came to me:

“Circumstances do not change the Word; the Word changes the circumstances.”

I first shared these words with Dr. Johnnie Blount, founder of Be the Word Ministry, while he was telling me about his wife Donis’ condition. She was in the hospital battling cancer and had just received a discouraging report. Dr. Blount immediately repeated the quote to her, and he continued to use it many times afterward. I later heard him share it in several of his teachings.

Each time I heard those words repeated, they blessed me in return. Although he sometimes changed “circumstances” to “mountains,” the message remained the same: there is nothing greater than the Word of God. I am thrilled to report that Donis received a miraculous healing!

I’m sure many of us have had moments when a meaningful quote came to mind. Perhaps we recognized it as inspiration, or perhaps we didn’t. I didn’t realize how many quotes I had accumulated until I began writing monthly newsletters and needed short, encouraging one-liners to include in them. While it can be challenging to come up with something meaningful on the spot, every now and then a thought emerges that resonates.

Most of the time, when I am writing a blog, teaching, song, or poem, a verse, paragraph, or topic stands out to me. I often find myself saying, “In other words…” and then expressing the thought in a simple, memorable way. As I wrote this blog, I realized that’s how most of these quotes came into being. The following quotes were taken from my Power & Praise Facebook posts I wrote over the past year.
