2024 Theme: Rest In the Finished Work

The Past
Fifteen years ago Dr. Johnnie Blount invited a group of friends to the great state of North Carolina for the Bridging the Gap Leadership Conference.
Dr. Johnnie had been to many different Christian conferences, where great messages were given, but he had not received practical ways to apply it to everyday life. He wanted his conference to be different. He wanted to offer ministry to the spirit, soul, and body of each person there. Since the beginning, we have studied the Word of God, prayed together, and played together. Each year we received revelation that will help us grow closer to the Lord and each other.
Dr. Johnnie shared “I wanted to give people a conference where they could receive the Word and the find help that would affect their lives, bring the Word to life and make it practical for everyday use. I wanted to help my friends build relationships with other Christians.
The key to this conference is the fellowship. So many of my friends had never been to the ocean, so I wanted people to experience the beach and take in the magnificence of God’s beauty.”
For many the conference provides a new perspective of God’s greatness and power. It serves as a reminder that He loves us and has so much for us to experience in this life. We see and appreciate the loving people, and the beach with our natural eyes and also receive teaching that opens our spiritual eyes.

Maybe you never knew that playing volleyball (at the beach party) could be so much fun. Well , if you’re like Dr. Johnnie the game’s not over (I mean the fun) until you win again. He is the self proclaimed master of tug of war. It is really just for fun, but some people are serious about their fun.
